Build My House
I heard the Lord say, “ Stop playing house and start building My house.”
I began to think about The book of Haggai and in the first chapter in verse 2 the people felt it wasn’t time to build the Lord’s house. They wanted to build their own houses. It was about their wills, their desires being met. In verse 5 the Lord says, “Consider your ways.” (V6) the Lord still speaking says you have sown much, and bring in little; you eat, but do not have enough; you drink, but you are not filled with drink; you clothe yourselves, but no one is warm; and he who earns wages, earns wages to put into a bag with holes.” The Lord then says again (v7) “ Consider your ways!”
Then the Lord shares what they should do. “ Go up to the mountains ( we need to go up into His prescience) and bring wood and build the temple (house), that I may take pleasure in it and be glorified, says the Lord.” Before I go any further I wanted to reflect on the what the Lord was saying here. He said go up to the mountains. I believe He was saying come up into My presence and You will get what you need. The word wood can mean compassion….go up into His presence and receive His compassion to build His house that He could take pleasure in and be glorified. I believe the church needs more compassion wouldn’t you agree?
Let’s move on…..(v12) it says then Zerubbabel and Joshua and ALL of the REMNANT of the people OBEYED the voice of the Lord their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet, as the Lord their God had sent him; and the people feared the presence of the Lord.
We are His remnant! He is speaking to us. It is time we obey Him and there is a fear that is going to return to the church…fear of God! and (v13) the Lord says, “ I am with you! How beautiful that is!
(V14) So the Lord stirred up the spirit of Zerrubbabel, then spirit of Joshua and the spirit of ALL the REMNANT of the people; and they came and worked on the house of the Lord of hosts, their God.
The Lord stirred up them…..Stirred also means He awakened them.
I believe this conference awakened us! Glory!
In chapter 2 the Lord begins to talk to Haggai asking who was left among them that saw this temple in its former glory? And how do they see it now? In comparison with it, is this not in your eyes as nothing?
How many times have we the Lord say for us not to despise the small things!
Again in chapter 2 (v) 4 the Lord says to work, for I am with you.(v5) the Lord says, “ According to the word that I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt, so My Spirit remains among you; do not fear!”
What a comfort!!
(6) the Lord says “Once more I will shake heaven and earth, the sea and dry land;
We heard this at the conference…a whole lot of shaken going on!!!
(V7) the Lord is still speaking, and I will shake ALL Nations, and they shall come to the Desire of all nations, and I will fill this temple (house) with glory!”
That’s His glory manifesting through us!!
(V8) the Lord continues, “ The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine.”
(V9 “ the glory of this latter temple (house) shall be greater than the former, says the Lord.” And in this place I will give PEACE, says the Lord”
This is truly the last days and what an awesome season we are in. His glory will manifest thru us in greater measures than before and can I tell you how much I love His peace! Glory!
In verses 10-14 the Lord speaks of things being unclean. We have a choice to make. He is calling His body to be holy. In 1Peter1:15-16 but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, “ Be holy, for I am holy.
(V15) the Lord says “ AND NOW, CAREFULLY CONSIDER FROM THIS DAY FORWARD ( it’s not caps in the word but I just had to do it here :) ) from before stone was laid upon stone in the temple of the Lord and then again in verse 18 consider now from this day forward….
Let’s repent if need be and not look at the past and look forward. We have been doing things in our own strength but we cannot any longer. In Zech 4:6 says Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit says the Lord. As we consider our ways from this day forward and stop in our own strength and walk hand in hand with the Holy Spirit, His temple, His house will be built!
(V19) the Lord is speaking, “Is the seed in the barn? As yet the vine, the fig tree, the pomegranate, and the olive tree have not yielded fruit. BUT from this day, says the Lord, I WILL BLESS YOU.”
How exciting! But from this day God will bless us!!!
(V21-22) the Lord says, “ I will shake heaven and earth. I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms; I will destroy the strength of the gentile kingdoms. I will overthrow the chariots and those who ride in them; the horses and their riders shall come down, everyone by the sword of his brother.”
This says God is going to cause our enemies to be defeated!!! Ya”ll have to be shouting now! This is good!!!
(V23) the Lord says, “ in that day I will take you, Zerrubbabel My servant and I will make you like a signet ring, for I have chosen you, says the Lord”
We are His remnant! I’m gonna say that again. We are His remnant.
The signet ring represents as article of special value to its owner. We are the chosen ones.
We are called to be the chosen ones by God, a signet ring, a remnant to build His house!
Lord forgive us and we consider our ways from this day forward. You have awakened us! We lay our hearts, our wills, our desires down and we go up into the mountains, your presence and we choose to embrace your will, your ways, and Your Compassion…to release You, manifesting You wherever we go. Thank You Lord for destroying the enemies before us as we take ground to build Your Kingdom for Your glory!
