Our Father’s Love

Our Father’s Love

Lately I have been meditating on how much our Father in heaven loves us unconditionally and with an everlasting love. (Jeremiah 31:3) He chose us from the foundation of the world (Ephesians 4:5) to become co-heirs and part of His heavenly home. Wow! That is really a mouthful. It really means that no matter who rejects us, fails us, or disappoints us, our Father, the Creator of the universe, will never leave or forsake us. (Deuteronomy 31:6)

Just dwell on this a moment if you will. This is such a lavish, pure and perfect love that casts out all fears and covers all sins. (1 John 4:18) It is a love that can infiltrate the most hardened heart or deepest wound. Man’s love can’t do this with its restrictions and limitations. Whereas our God can reach the deepest depths of despair with His hope and change a lonely heart forever.

I have another thought to pass on. There is nothing, absolutely nothing, that can separate you or I from the love of God. (Romans 8:38) Our God is Love and when we abide in Him we then abide in His love. (John 4:8) By His Grace we also receive the gift of salvation. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

No matter what you’re going through, it’s important to remember that you and I are not alone. God sent His Son into this world to redeem mankind. He voluntarily died for us while we were still sinners and there is no greater love than this. (John 15:13) We are part of His family forever and isn’t that marvelous? I believe it is. So if you did not receive love from your earthly father you are not alone. My father was critical and absent. Please rest in this – God the Lord Jesus Christ loves you and I just as we are. He lavishes His best gifts and love on us as His children. (1 John 3:1) You may be wondering how can I know and feel God’s love. I suggest simply sitting back and receiving it. Begin reading love Scriptures over yourself, spend time talking with your Father and learning His Word. In time, you will learn to trust Him (Psalm 37:2), casting ALL your cares upon Him. (1 Peter 5:7) Abide in Him and eventually surrender your life fully.

In closing, remember Our Father loves you and I. You are not alone as He is closer than a brother. He can become our all-in-all for every problem, every situation, every issue, and every concern no matter how small or large. He is with us now and He knows what we need before we even ask. (Matthew 6:8) Remember as you draw near to Him, He will draw near to you.

Till next time,

Gail
